While installing Digital Lock, the 7th terminal of EEPROM got broken. New EEPROM was installed and lock was removed. New resistance was also installed and receiver is now back to original with no alteration.

Receiver turns on normally with power LED on but does not obey the remote control commands and all the time displays "SEARCHING FOR SIGNAL"

Does EEPROM need programming or what should I do? What has happened?

Thanks for guidance.

Shahid

A new eeprom is blank, and will need restored to the contents of the original.

Yes, load up your TSOP backup file(s) into FlashEdit and then click Open, then click Save As and select Virgin EEPROM. Write that back to your receiver with your Jtag and Jkeys, and then try again.

From where to get TSOP back up files? Do I have to download from internet or that will be available when I hook up Jtag.

Thanks,

Shahid

If you have to use public dump TSOP files, download ones that match your Build Config (little white sticker on motherboard) Load them into FlashEdit, and make sure you update your boxkeys and IRD number on the flash file(s) before saving them in FlashEdit, and also save as 'virgin eeprom' so that you can write that to the new eeprom.

Thanks for your reply.

I do remember I did make a back up of both TSOPs as .bin but did not have any idea of having back up of EEPROM. They way you are telling me is that TSOPs are the only required files to do the job for updating EEPROM. Is it?

I will let you know the progress.

Thanks again,

Shahid

Yes, you can create a virgin EEPROM from your backup files using FlashEdit.

when you reflash your tsop and eeprom does it have to be virgin? could you just reload your backed up copies of your eeprom and tsop?

Hi FREQ

I tried a lot but no result. TSOP backup I already had but no EEPROM backup. Gives "error programming EEPROM".

There is nothing like to select "virgin EEPROM" as u told me. I just tried Program EEPROM button and proceeded as per instructions. I used Jkeys dp301-13.zip.

More important is to note that it automatically selects EEPROM 24C64 all the times instead of 24LC16B. Does this mean that the new installed EEPROM is not 24LC16B and is actually 24C64 (given to me wrong chip by store)

Waiting for your comments and guidance please.

Thanks,

Shahid
