finaly got my jtag, but can't get it to work, i have a buffered handsfree jtag, running win xp on two 301/10 and one 2800, i can't get any of them to read, i have tried two sets of batteries so it's not that, help please
If the batteries are fresh (rechargables seem to cause issues, so use Alkalines that haven't been used in anything else), how is the printer port? Has that port ever worked using a Jtag before? Are you using an extension cable to get to the printer port? If so, can you try putting the Jtag DB25 directly into the port on the back of the computer? (it may be a tight fit and you might have to stand the receiver on end or some such to get it close enough).
If you have a second computer, can you try it on that?
Sometimes WinXP maps the printer port to an address that doesn't correspond to the normal ones you'd expect (0x378, 0x278 or 0x3BC). Check in the hardware manager in XP and see if the resources the printer port is using start at one of those addresses, and if so, make sure Jkeys is set for that one. If the port is using another address, you may have to force it to use the one you want instead.
Just some possibilities.
