help me to start .....dish

hi guys,
i am new to dish....and
i been reading almost 2weeks and have some idea
but, i don't know what to start
here is what i bought so far....
iso dual crystal programmer
tsop and eprom lock switch
j-tag (home made)
ird 2700 with rom 3 card
question is
should i install tsop and eprom lock switch same time?
or what should i start first
please help me .........
should i with out the tsop install and eprom lock
just using j-tag first or should i install tsop and eprom lock first
than try j-tag to program
please help !!!!!!

I would suggest doing one thing at a time, Then if problems pop up you know what caused them. I would backup the tsop and eeprom, Write a basic 150 channel package and add a blocker, If this runs fine then your cam number is ok, Then add your receiver mods ( Locks)and try it again, If it still works then start adding more channels that you want less ppv. Try it again and if all good then get into you open ppv strings if you want those.

Excellent advice there from Birdie. Also, as he said, use that Jtag first, and get your TSOP and EEPROM backup up before doing any physical mods. I personally don't use TSOP or EEPROM locks, so I'd do that last, if at all. When I program my cards, they seem to be less of a target because I don't over do it on the tiers and such, as in reality, there's a lot there that I wouldn't watch anyway, and I tend to stick with the pre-packaged tiers which will look more realistic to commands looking for obvious targets to hit.
