Hey there,
If i've got an old directv dish, can i use the dual dish LNB with sw21 switch in conjunction with this dish? rather than purchasing another dish?

you need two lnbs and you have to buy the dish 500 dish , it has the skew settings on it, or you can use two single lnb dishes and use th sw21 also
Actually, you do need two LNB's, but you don't have to buy a separate dish, you can strap, epoxy, or whatever the second LNB to the first one and use it that way. It's a common hack that is done and works very well for receiving both 110 and 119 with a DTV single LNB system. You could use the existing LNB as the 119, and to the left side of that, attach another LNB and set it about 1/2" lower. That would be your 110 LNB. Do this with cable/wire ties first so that you can adjust it before making it permanent.
Search around for instructions, it's all rather simple really. I've done it on several converted DTV systems, and it saves a bit of money.
