The following models HAVE the JTAG port included:
2700, 2800, 3700, 3800, 3900, 4700, 4900, DP301 (3100), PVR501 (5100), 6000 .
Look on the bottom of your IRD, if it has a rectangular porthole with some solder plated pads on the motherboard, then you've got JTAG,some 301/3100 models have EJTAG interface some where on the motherboard that can be used.
The following models do NOT have the JTAG port available on them, just the high-speed serial port on the back:
2000,21xx, 2200, 2500, 3000, 3500, 4000, 4500, 5000, 5500, DP7100, and the DP7200.
For the NO-jtag IRDs, you might be able to use a method to get into the TSOP called Grey-box method. It is quite complex and not for newbies.
