The JTAG pads are on the bottom side of the motherboard. Simply remove the motherboard from the chassis and you will see the JTAG pads. Once you remove the motherboard I would suggest that you make an opening in the case for ease of access in the future. Good luck!

this might seem a bit crude , but i used a 2 1/2 inch hole saw to cut a hole on the borrom of the receiver so i could get at the jtag conectors .
hope this helps some :)

You could also jTag from the top of the 3100 MOBO via the EJTAG port.

Smootchy you may be in a bad way. Sounds like you
have erased the boot sector of the TSOP.
I have been playing with 301's for about 6 months
and I even have a damn hard time fixing this sort
of thing.
But, nothing ventured nothing gained.
First off you need Jkeys 2.0.1 and 2.9.9 and
wall. Why you may ask, well you may have to
try all three several times to get it to work.
Couple questions. Which 301 do you have.
010 or 013?
Which chipset?
Two 2meg TSOP?
One 4meg TSOP?
You will also need a hex edit software.
I like hex workshop 3.1 myself.

With a 301-013 it's easy. You just need to put it into boot from
link mode. This is done by connecting pin 1 of the jtag port
on the bottom of the receiver to ground before plugging
it in. (see attachment the blue number 1 is the connection)
Then just rewrite both tsop's with your backups.
The receiver will give no indications of working in
boot from link mode. (no power light not even a
flicker) But jkeys should now see the TSOP and
read and write it ok.

A 3000 has no jtag. Do a search for "junkyard"
