I just installed dishlock V2.0 autoreset on a 2700 and was wondering how to test the lock operation without putting in the stream?
I cannot use the "edit my favorites" method as as I am not in the stream and no favorites or guides will come up
Is there an easy way to test this out of the stream or is my only option to stream it and see it take or block an ECM
I also saw in a previous thread that a 2700 has to use 5v for the lock but Dishlock has me hooking theirs up to 3.3v? Please let me know which is correct
Thanks in advance-RT

Changing Your Favorites Will Not Tell You The Tsop Lock Is Working Or Not. Menu Changes Are Stored In The EEprom Not The Tsop. If DishLock Says To Hookup Their Lock To 3.3v, Hook It Up To 3.3v. To Test Your Lock, You Need To Hook Up Your Jtag And Try To Erase/Program Your Tsop. If It Does Not Erase/Program, Your Lock Should Be Working.

Smurftoon-
Thanks for the quick and straightforward reply, This is what i found out:
I was able to erase my TSOP and with my lock off was able to program
TSOP and EEPROM; with the switch locked I got a ''write error'' when trying to program TSOP but was still able to program the EEPROM. Is this a normal lock condition when my lock is configured for EEPROM protection as well? I erased and programmed several times to confirm it would do this consistantly and it seems to be. Thanks for the information-RT

If You Had Read The Installation Instructions At Their WEB Site, It States the Following:

EEPROM Protection - This allows the eeprom to be open during normal operations, but in the event of a tsop write it will hold the power high on the write protect of the EEPROM. After a reset it will return to the channel you were watching before it reset.

So, It Appears The EEprom Is Only Locked If the Lock Detects A Tsop Write.

OK, so can you test an EEPROM lock for proper operation out of the stream by doing a TSOP write, thus ensuring that it is doing what it is supposed to? If so how?

I Think It's Time You Emailed DishLock Support And Pose That Question To Them?

Omazed, are you talking about Digi-Lock v2 auto-resets? I was just looking through the install page and this caught my eye: "NOTE: Do not cut trace if you plan on using as Auto-Reset Mode." Which I would assume goes the same for the resistor.
