Hi All,
If you aready backup your TSOP, and EPPROM. Is it necessary to a digial lock? Also, is the softlock very reliable?
Thanks
If you have a way to reprogram your receiver, then the hardware lock is definitely not required. A lot of testers don't use them. Personally, I'd rather use the money on locks for something else, and have been very successful with just a softlock.
On the other hand, if you have a lot of problems getting the TSOP and eeprom to communicate and get a backup or have trouble programming them, then a harware lock may make send for you.

Some of the newer receivers will not accept the soft locks. the AR105-b digital lock works great with all receivers. it is only $15 at www.oddcircuits.com. and is upgradable. A lock is not neccessary, but you will need to jtag when you get ECMd. The lock will keep your receiver from getting ECMd.
