hey, my receivers been working great thanx to dave2s and the guys at NNW team...but just yesterday, my receiver wen't down...at least i think it did...I keep getting the "acquiring signal" nag continously without any tv at ALL...i'm not sure whats wrong, i've read a lot of other threads, that would have a solution to a similar problem to mine, but were unable to find any that works...
For some reason, i can't program my card with the lazyboyz program, i haven't tried the atmega fix yet...or anything else...
By the way, i'm running on a 3100, with a mechanical tsop lock, with a black atmega with jumper
I don't know much about these things...but i'll be quick to change that
Any help would be most greatful

Try on the remote hitiing "Menu,6,1,1" run checkswitch and see what it shows for sats after .Check the signal strength of each sat then.

well, i checked it right away...but before i could press the menu button, another box came up saying my card is not inserted properly
So...then i try to reprogram it...before i could, i wanted jeepers to read it...now it doesn't want to read anymore..it gives me the messege : "Failed to enter program mode"
dunno what to do anymore...

well after fixing up my atmega...i did the check switch thing, and it's official...i have zero sat signal... :( .... dunno what to do without sat tv anymore...
Bypass the switch and run the cable right to the 91 sat LNBF and see what happens ...
Not much on the 82 bird anyways ...

i'm sorry, i'm pretty new to this, (though i hate to use it as an excuse) but i don't really understand what your saying...
are you saying i should get up the roof, unplug the 82 and run it right through the 91?
Yep !
Don't use the switch at all , just run the main cable from the house to the 91 LNBF ..
See if it works ...

Saw it, did it, doned it, finished it, and now i got 86% signal and now my life line is now back on "stable"
4X4 u are a GOD! thank you so much!
jennawan ,
That's good , sounds like maybe the switch is bad , at least now you know where to look ...
Great !

4x4, well after 4 successful days, the problem has come back to hunt me...i've done the check switch again, and zero satellite frequency...i'm not sure what to do anymore...should i call my guy to install me another dish?
he's this chinese contractor who doesn't know much about english...and i'd really doubt he'd go and sell me off...

i would say bad connection where it goes in the lnb try wiggling the cable on the lnb to see if it comes in if so your cable no good

Well, theres something really wrong with my satellite dish, or my cable is really bad, or a combination of both, because i can never get a stable signal...sometimes it works, sometimes i gotta wiggle the back, sometimes it doesn't work at all...
should i try that paper trick?

well, i don't think the problem is with the cable, because now that i have some signal (about 70-90%) i get some chanel, the problem is, my receiver won't lock on to every second transponder...like lets say transponder 1 will have 80% signal, then transponder 2 won't have any at all...
i'm not sure what to do...
