What model receiver are you using? What is the location ID? If the ID is 00000001 your IRD has been ECM'd.

Hit your system info button on your remote. If the Location ID is 00000001 your receiver has been ECM'd or taken out by Charlie. If you backed up your TSOP you can restore it and it should fix the problem. If not you can go into JKEYS and delete sector SA30, then put receiver back in the stream and it should rewrite the TSOP within 10 or 15 minutes. If that dosen't help you do a search on "3900 ECM". Read, Read, Read.

Read a newbie guide. Read the stickies in each forum. Then read the posts. Search button works great if you need somthing specific.

Yes it is 0000001, could you give me some information about jkeys is that a file, I have looked for it but been unable to find it. I did not do a backup of my tsop but I have it written down on what it was before the hit. Do I need to build a jtag and I assume that jkeys is a program to use to open up the tsop. Could you let me know if this is correct, I have read, read, and read, more but its so confusing with all the different receivers out there, mind is a 3900

You either need to build or order a JTAG. There are instructions on this forum on how to build your own. It's not that difficult.

JKEYS is a program that lets your read and write to your TSOP and EEPROM. It should be available in the download section.

You'll get it all figured out. The only reason I can help you is I just went through the same thing. I'm still very new to dish but learn more everyday. Good luck.

Skeeter you know what his next question is going to be where is the download section.
Instructions are confusing with all the different IRD's.

acadd - Order a jtag from mili's store there is a link on the top, this way you can't come back and say the other dealer screwed u. Click on the public file download button up above that is the download section and you will find lots of files there. Also click on the search button and type 000001 or ecm you will find info about how to fix this problem. There are 2 search buttons up there so make sure u select the one that says search not search this thread. The procedure is the same to fix IRD after ecm for all IRD's. The only thing different is the sector you will have to erase. Hope this helps. Don't be in a rush to do anything take it slow.

The jtag was the easy part, knowing what to do with it is the hard part, when you have so many different answers for the same type of question it is realy hard to figure out which one is correct, that is why us beginners rely on expereince people to guide us in the right direction, I am sorry if it seems redunit to you but we are trying to learn without destroying are equiptment.
