Rom 10 @ A23??

I got a dp301/dish dual (119/110) 500 system from a friend. He unsubscribed a year and a half ago. He must have pulled the system before it got the command to shut down because it still has the basic script on it. I set it up, then started reading. I'm wondering if I messed up by putting it into the stream. It has gone to rev A23. Is this disasterous or can I still program it? It is also telling me that I have to hook up the phone line to order ppv. It won't allow me to buy.
Can anyone shed some light on this or help me out?

a23 is streamlocked meaning you can not program it. You either have to send it to a dealer to get it unlocked or maybe there is freeware out to do it? I'm not sure about the freeware.

no freeware available that opens rev a23 at this time.

You got caught in Charlies trick to lock your card. Run it as is now and it should stay up a long time. Most dealers cannot even unlock A23 yet.

My rom 10 @a23 is working fine except when i want to view 501 ppv it says I have to hook to a phone line,Any way of getting around this?

i have a receiver in the same situation. buy a magic card, program in married mode, (could be the easiest thing you'll ever do in dish) and you've got a fully functional reciever with all channels. what you have there is the best of all worlds. so get moving man ..... times a wasting
