I have a friend that subs to dishnet and has no problem letting me read his card for my use. My question is excatly what info do I need to keep. I know on dave's old stuff it was the bin, so I assume it would be the cam id on dish. Thanks for any help on what all I need to save to use on a 3m for dish.

Pitbull i dont mean to be harsh, but have you taken the time to read any of the newbies guides to charlie? Your really going to need to do so because there is virtually nothing in common between charlie and dave. And if you dont take advice and read, you will travel one of two paths, first; whatever you purchase towards this hobby will get locked with a current rev or your receiver will get ecm'ed and wind up costing you money, second; you will end up pissing off those who try to help here because questions you would be asking have been asked and answered hundreds of times already, as has your initial questions at least five times by every newbie migrating from dave.
This time I will answer your question, 99.99999% sure that you cannot read a subbed card to charlie, becasue the way into the cards, called a backdoor was locked through the stream a while back. So therefore any legit card that was in the stream recently and might have been able to be read (rom 2, 3 10 etc.) now has the backdoor locked by charlie. It is also quite possible that your friends subbed card is a newer yellow card, to which again I am 99.9999% sure that these cards cannot be read at this time.
Advice for future posts, when asking questions always state the rom of your card, the rev it is at and the receiver model you are using. However, do not ever post your card number (always use S 00 0XXXXXXX XX) and or your receiver number in any open forums. I have seen idiots on gbay post the card numbers, but good place to look if you ever need a legit card number.
Pitbull, please please please do not take these words as a flame, it is just there are a lot of people who are new to charlie and are expecting to jump right in and for things to be as easy as they were for dave during the hu and that is simply not the case. You are not going to get your charlie testing set up and running in a day.
Further advice; Learn to use the search feature, it is really helpful as you dont have to wait for someone to reply to answer your question, especially at 2:00 AM when your really really close and it is just pissing you off that you need one more thing. More then likely, most of the problems that newbies run into have already been discussed and a solution obtained. Again I am not flaming you, just offering advice, thank you and good luck.
