Okay, here goes. I recently switched to Dish from DTV. I have been watching 110 and 119 with my DP500 just fine. I wanted to get internationals. First I hooked up both dishes to my dp21 switch. It showed no connection and the 61.5 kept reading the 119 signal. I looked in the owner's manual and read that I'm supposed to hook the other dish up without the switch. So I hooked my DTV dish directly to my receiver pointed in the general direction of 61.5 and ran a check switch. It keeps showing that there's no satellite feed. Is my dish messed up, or do I need to change the LNB? What am I doing wrong????????

Go to 18inch.com and look at the diagrams, sounds like you need a couple of switches to get 3 sats.....

First hookup the receiver directly to the 61.5 dish and then find the best signal. Then go buy a sw64 switch(can get one off ebay for $50.00).Then hook up both dish500(119/110) and the dish 300(61.5) like it shows on the diagram for the switch. Then do a check switch.Do not run a check switch without the switch connected.Should be ready to go. Hope this helps good luck. :) :)

I have hooked the dish directly up to my receiver, and I get N.C. (No connection; no satellite feed). It's a DTV dish not a dish300. I had everything hooked up like the diagram specified before I hooked it up directly. Is my dish messed up or do I need to change the LNB?

I would use a dish 300.I do not know how to convert the DTV dishes but I have heard it is a pain you do have to use the lnb form a dishnetwork dish for it to work . :) :)

just looked at that link, the 2 dish setup for 3 sats will require 2 receivers, each will get 2 different sats, but none will get all 3.
You can use a SW21X and a SW21 and get 3 lnb's into 1 IRD, see 18inch.com for specifics.
Yes. Either that or a powered switch or one dish pro IRD to provide the necessary voltage. (either/or, anywhere in the system) I am currently running a quad legacy lnb. (for dish) I also have taken my dual dtv, put it into a 2x4 switch so I have 4 outputs. (just like it was to get 4 dtv outs) That gives me 4 outputs from the 61.5, and 4 outputs from the 110 and 119 from my legacy 500 quad. If I combine any of the 4 feeds from both dishes with an SW21 switch, I am running 3 birds on one receiver with no problems. The key is having a powered multi switch somewhere and/or a pro IRD in the system. You just have to end up with 22V into the system somewhere to power the lnb's and the switches. (the switch will also have the associated tone generator. i.e.-a cascadable SW21 switch)

I have a powered switch (DP21 not SW21 - which I know will not work). I also have a dish pro receiver which is also supposed to support the required voltage. Anybody have any info on changing the LNB on my DTV dish so I don't have to by a new dish?
