i have read read and read please help on my 3100-010 could someone tell me which pads are the ground so i can solder my jtag on

Heck, just pick any good ground point, one whole row of pads by the jtag pads is grounded.....if you can't find ground, how are you doing with the other 5 wires??

my jtag has 7 top pins and 2 bottom pins but the bottom pins are not touching the pads they are not aligned right so now what i'm sorry i'm slow with catching on to all this but i don't want to fry the thing, this is what my tagging device looks like sorry i don't kwow how to upload a pic but if you go to greendish.com click on jtags and click on quad mode thats what i got so if i wanted to take off the ribbon cable bare the ends of the wires and solder it directly to the ird would that work and what wire would go where if anyone knows any suggestions to help me out i would be greatful

That will work, there are drawings you can download that show the correct pads to solder to. Just make sure you know which wire goes to which pad.

i tried and nothing happened keep getting 0xfffffffff
