501 (Possibly 508) Refurb TSOP DCWA (TSOP Begging)

I hate to beg. But I am out of options. Could someone upload or send me a virgin tsop image for a 501 refurb.

It comes with a GT and DT chip. Build is DCWA. I need an image that has never been streamed. (Virgin)

How are you going to get it to write the Flash for TSOP 2?
The GT chip is write protected. Do you know how to Vid Mod it?

Yes vidmod went smoothly without a problem. Treated the board like it was 508 / 510. Just make sure you check for r331.

I used the DCKA that is posted at dssftp tsop bank, it is at 063 and will allow the 508 to update.

did you actually try to erase the U7 after vid modding? Save the flash, erase, and try to restore it, if it won't reflash there is an easy method to install a jumper to the OJ1 location that makes it a breeze.

Yes I have a jumper on OJ1. This is the reciever from hell. LOL

I tried DCKA. It doesn't work. So you have a DCWA board also? It says DCKD on the board, but being a refurb that is not the case. There is another sticker that says DCW. Missing 4th letter.

I have tried just about every firmware out there. I get stuck with both lights on. I have 00'd the drive. Now I need a virgin firmware.

As for erasing / flashing it is very inttermitant. Even with OJ1 jumped. Buffered Jtag and all. I get more reliable results by unplugging the front panel ribbon cable. Weird huh?

I do get it to erase / reprogram. With a little coaxing, but I get it to work.

I was ready to give up on this one too, it was a DC3D, it's a DCKA now.

I used a DPDT switch and put OJ1 so that when the vid mod is switched on the OJ1 is switched on too, then switch the vid mod on before plugging the IRD in and it worked great.

I must have read for 3 hours, on different forums and sites before I finally got it to take.....at one point the sucker was dead, no led, no HD, nothing, thought I deep 6'ed it, but it's cool now.

My reciever does appear to boot, but both the red and green light are on. From reading on the message board I have narrowed it down to bad tsop image or corrupt hard drive.

I have 00'd the drive and need to locate the TSOP image in order to test it.

Did you make an eeprom image usinfg the flash for U7? I did using flashedit and the DCKA flash 2. But when FE asks for config build from tag, that's what I put in it, DC3E.

There is a guide on how to do vidmod for recievers withotu r331. Download it and give it a try.

Well someone uploaded virgin tsop for me. It flashed okay, but my reciever is still a doorstop. Any ideas?
