Hello Mili and all,
Great site and lots of great information. I think I initially posted this in the wrong forum so here it goes again.
I've done the reading as requested and came to point I pretty much know what I need to get started and how to get near future proof.
I'll tell you what I'm looking for and what I have decided on based on the readings and you please tell me if I'm not missing anything, chose the most reliable option as for CAM and am making the right choices overall. Thank you so much in advance for all your input.
Here it goes:
On the long run I want to get either the following IRD's: 811 or 6000 (HDTV) - actually have the HDTV compatible TV (Plasma) but do not have $400+ to spend on the IRD right now.
I'll only need 1 IRD.
For now (and to get started with) I decided on the following:
DISH 500 with single LNB - for one IRD (or do I need dual LNB such as DISH PRO)
IRD: 301.010 (I could not find the info if 301.013 can be "fixed" with the firmware only to accept MC)
JTAG Programmer
MAGIC CARD with PROGRAMMER
DIGITAL LOCK
I want to pay for subscription (at least the bare minimum) and have at least the DISH ready for 811 or 6000.
Now, I understand that 811 will not work with MC at this time or ever right?
If I went with 6000, will the Programmers (JTAG, MC) be usefull as well?
