Just Got New ReFurb 501, Should I Plug In Now(Yellow Card) Or Wait Until I Get Blue?

I just got my re-furb boxed, I havn't even plugged it in yet. It came with a yellow card but im hoping it will work with blues. My questions is should I plug it into the stream with yellow card in and let it do all the firmware updates and stuff? Or should I wait until I get my blue card in and put that in the stream for the first time?

Also when I back up my tsop should I back it up BEFORE putting in the stream or after I put it in the stream with a normal yellow card and then back up the tsop?

I would back it up first, Then update it and back it up again. This way you have the virgin tsop and eeprom as well as the current ones. Your yellow card will go to rev 103 lock if you update with it.( Virgin yellow is rev 007).

ok, glad I didn't put it in the stream yet,

so I should plug in the box to the wall, j-tag it and then the stream?
