Is there a thread on on how to take apart a 301.010 dp receiver?

No, but it really isn't that hard. Removing 3 screws on the back and 2 on the bottom will get the cover off.
If you want to take the board out, then there is a little more.

Remove the top metal casing as skinerd said. The front panel has 4 plastic tabs. Push on them to release and remove.

The motherboard is held with 4 screws. Then there is a screw on the back of IRD that's next to the RCA plugs. Then remove the 3 nuts and washers on the 'Sat In, cable In and Out to Tv'. And last, there are 3 metal tabs that hold the MB on each side of IRD that you must bend out. Then you can remove the main board.
