View Full Version : Rom10 rev16....looped?

I've been racking my brains since I got my programmer from mili. I've inserted both my cards into my ird (no sat cable) and went to systems info. One card reads..rom10 rev16, the other...rom10 rev20. I do know that the rev16 card is the desired read I want (?).

When I install the rev16 card into the Amphenol iso (3.68), it gives me a open com1, a partial atr, then an invalid atr string. I've search all the sites to try and determine if this card was looped, but could not find any hard evidence to say it was. I did find one post, that had conflicting replies...."no, a locked or looped card will not show any info on the TV screen" to..."I don't know, I"m new at this".

I really prefer to read and gather information, and test, but I'm stumped right now. Seeing sooo many people get flamed on here and elsewhere, makes me gun shy about posting.

Thank you for your time,

GunDr

What you said doesn't give us enough info....You could at least mention what program you used.....

But anyway....do a process of elimination....

1) Try to read the same card with different version of NagraEdit (3.0-4.0-4.1)
If same result then
2) Try to read the second card with different version of NagraEdit
If same result then
3) Your PC setting or software setting might be wrong....etc...

You have to at LEAST pinpoint it down to something that you KNOW is good (like a working ISO programmer or correct setting), that would leave you a good place to start...

If you can get the second card to read with certain program ...then you know it's all good...then it HAS to be the first card that is bad....

Wouldn't you agree ?

Thank you Indal,

I did not know that there was a difference with the different versions of nagra. I had the asumption that as the version numbers went up, ie 2,3,4.0, 4.1, that they were just updating the older software. I was using nagra 4.0. Sorry I did not mention that.

I will dl the others and try them all.

Sincerely,

Indal,

I downloaded and ran the three nagras 3.0, 4.0, 4.1, still the same. I ran the dish_a21_opener with winex. The com1 opened and the packets got sent and a series of numbers were returned from each card. When it concluded it said both card were open. I quess my next question would be...open from what, from being locked or looped. I then ran the three nagras, still an invalid atr.

So, to be able to send packets and get responses from the cards, I would assume the programmer is working. The funny thing is it gave me an atr, but a RX atr number with the a21 opener, the first 14 letters and numbers. With all three nagras, I get the first 14 letters and numbers.

Thank you for your patience,

GunDr

I'm also a little confused with the terms..locked and looped. With me being unable to get a complete ATR, would that mean my cards are looped. And if I'm able to get the ATR and other card info, but receive a message that the backdoor is not open, there locked?

Thanks again,

GunDr
