Would you look at this....while I'm tempted to just say "what else would you expect from Arkansas"....unfortunately, this politically correct lunacy is everywhere. Cut and paste from today's Fox News headlines.

An Arkansas school teacher who gave her students a fish-shaped water gun is under fire from a parent who says she disapproves of weapons in her house, reports KPOM-TV in Ft. Smith, Ark.

The teacher at an elementary school in Rogers, Ark., gave her students the squirter following a lesson about animals in the rain forest. School officials say she feels horrible about the entire situation and didn't mean to offend anyone.

The parent who complained, Karen Young, doesn't want fish-shaped toy guns in her house because she accidentally shot an ex-boyfriend one time when the gun she was beating him with went off.

:p :) :D

The most important thing about guns is education. You must know what they are for and how they operate. Children will come in contact with guns. They are not for beating your boyfriend with. If that parent had been taught what guns are for she would not have used it as she did. They are for shooting that MF if he or somenoe else is putting you or your loved ones in danger. I do not go to many homes without a gun. If I do I bring my own. I am not from Ark I am from MS and I could rant greatly about things such as this but I will say no more.

Obviously, this could have happened anywhere...we all like to pick on Arkansas... :) but here's the point I was trying to make..

This whole country is absolutely snarled beyond recognition with "politically correct" mayhem...trial lawyers, the ACLU, etc are miring this nation in a river of bullshit we may never escape from. I'm not nearly as concerned about terrorist activity within our borders - hell, give it a few more years, and we'll destroy ourselves.

I totally, firmly believe in our right to bear arms. RESPONSIBLY. You don't point a weapon at another person unless you intend on killing them, period. If you're not willing and prepared to follow through, you have no business owning one.

That being said, I come from an era where fish-shaped water guns weren't a threat to society, and no teacher would have been reprimanded as a result. This poor woman will probably lose her job, when all she was trying to do was educate her students - what she was hired to do in the first place. A damn shame.

I nearly choked om my veggie hotdog! Good one Mili!

As for the PC crap....how bout that kid getting suspension for an 8 inch long toy bat from a trophy that was found in his locked car in the parking lot? Why wasn't 'illegal search and seizure' ever brought up in that case? Hell, the school probably gave him the trophy!

Zero tolerance sounds great, but the criteria for an infraction is way out in left field.

Hmmmm.......arkansas..........sure is beautiful here......damned hot too......and no, I am not married to my cousin or any of my other relatives. I don't know anyone who is either, but that was a good joke mili. American society has gone insane, my son was sent home this past year for a shirt, that "depicted violence". I was shocked, especially since it was nothing more than a shirt that showed Spiderman chasing the green goblin.

mili

You cannot wear Spiderman on your T-shirt but clusterbombing in Irak is fine. Give me a fucking break. The more I read and hear about the US by the US media the more they convince me that the country is packed to the rim with idiots. Now I know it is not true but for the love of God the media surely trying very hard to convince me otherwise.
The whole US society is based on FEAR that is obvious. Michael Moor said it right. Wait til you see his new movie about 911. Farenheit 911 if I am correct. The administration tried its very best to kill the movie off. Luckily they did not succeed.

Anybody who'd put one bit of confidence in that America-hating radical would howl at the moon..Godamighty, don't get me started..

Maybe Moore will just become a French citizen - since he was treated as visiting royalty at the Cannes Film Festival. If he moves over there, it'll raise the IQ average of both countries.

It's one thing to bring America's problems to light - and brother, we've got lots of 'em..but this Al-Queda sympathizer not only wants the Bush Administration destroyed - he's not gonna rest until he sees this entire country wiped out. It'll make great material for his next film. It's my understanding that Alec Baldwin, Sean Penn, George Clooney and Barbara Streisand have already auditioned for the leading parts

People have every right to hate America, and Americans. Americans have every right to make sure they do it from somewhere else. Don't like me? Don't like my business? Don't like my country? Fuckin' leave, man...

Mili, I love you, my tree-hugging, liberal friend...but we will forever butt heads when it comes to that line of thinking. We're not a nation of idiots. There ARE idiots among us, however.. :p

If General George Patton were alive and President of the
USA, this would be his Fireside Speech:

My fellow Americans:

As you all know, the defeat of Iraq's regime has been
completed. Since congress does not want to spend any more
money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete. This morning I
gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces
from Iraq. This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now
time to begin the reckoning.

Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of
countries which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict.
This list is short. Th e U nited Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia,
Norway and Poland are some of the countries listed there.

The other list contains everyone not on the first list. Most
of the world's nations are on that list. My press secretary will be
distributing copies of both lists later this evening.

Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign
aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely.
The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay
for the costs of the Iraqi war.

The American people are no longer going to pour money
into third world hell-holes and watch those government leaders
grow fat on corruption. Need help with a famine? Wrestling with
an epidemic? Call France.

In the future, together with Congress, I will work to cut
taxes and solve some local problems.

On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with
us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your
friends from the face of the earth. Thirsting for a gutsy country
to terrorize? Try France, or maybe China.

To Israel and the Palestinian Authority. You, boys. Work out
a peace deal now. Just note that Camp David is closed. Maybe
all of you can go to Russia for negotiations. They have some
great palaces there. Big tables, too.

I'm ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations
with France, Germany, and Russia. Thanks for all your help,
comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well. Bon chance,
mes amis.

I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin
towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan
with more than two unpaid tickets to sites where those vehicles
will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about
whatever treaty pertains to this. Pay your tickets tomorrow or
watch your precious Benzes, Beamers, and limos be turned over
to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love New York.

A special note to our neighbor Mexico, who is also
on List 2. President Fox and his entire corrupt government really
need an attitude adjustment. I have a couple of extra tank
and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I'm gonna put
'em? Yep, border security. So start doing something with your oil.

Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA
treaty--starting now.

It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own
citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them by
saying darn tootin'.

Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life
around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just
about everyone on the planet. It is time to cut taxes here
because we will not be spending on other peoples problems.

To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thanks guys. We
owe you.

To the nations on List 2, a final thought. Drop dead.
God bless America.

Thank you and good night.

Yep - politics and religion - ahhh, don't ya just love it :)

Don't fuss me; some dopey Arkansas hillbilly started this mess. :p

I still think the number one reason we're bogged down with third world terrorists is that America's been asleep at the switch for 25 years - ever since the first major attack I can remember, the Tehran hostage crisis of 1979. Can't blame it on a party, politicize it...we just flat out haven't been tough enough.

It's not fear that's driving our society, Mili - it's APATHY. Who attacked who here, anyway? And how did it get so out of hand? Think it's over religion? That America never took the time to "understand" the Muslim/Islamic mindset? Well, bull-SHIT. This is a bunch of killers we're dealing with. You don't negotiate a damn thing with them. You kill them. Graveyard dead. At that point in time, negotiating becomes pretty redundant.

We ALL share the blame - Administrations and citizens alike - for sitting on our asses and allowing this to happen. I say Bush isn't doing enough - you put me in the driver's seat and I'll show the world what happens when you fuck with a superpower...

Damn, I've drifted off the subject of water pistols a bit, eh? :p

Damn all this over a kid with a water pistol shaped like a fish.

I'm with ya chief.

Wonder what would've happened if she gave out spiderman teeshirts too.

Ya know all this politically correct bullshit makes me sick to no fucking end. I remember a time when that dumbass parent would've lost her her job and status in society for such a stupid complaint. She would've been a laughing stock. Of course I don't live in arkansas though maybe thats the difference. That time wasn't very long ago because I'm not that old. What the hell are we becoming.

Yeah I agree. All of this politically correct stuff is a bunch of crap. I am for this.....tell me straight how you feel about something.......I may not agree but at least I will know where you stand. The fact is sometimes some people's feelings are going to get hurt and that is just how things are. I do not like Bush as a President but......I thank my lucky stars that we had him instead of Gore(the opposing canidate in 2000) I am sure he would have wanted to talk or maybe just get his wife to go on a campaign to censor the bad guys. Bush has done the best job he could under the circumstances. Me personally, I would have been after their ass from day one and shot em down for killing all of our American brothers and sisters........Don't like America, then try living in Iraq for just one week then come and talk to me.
