I'm new to cemu and have been reading everything I can get my hands on for the last couple of months and I'm afraid I'm suffering from info overload.

I've built my own max/mel boards and my own Ar105A tsop locks, and managed to get cemu up and running fairly easily using the stock settings. I'm experiencing an annoying problem and think I know the cause, but I'm seeking confirmation.

Rougly every 30 to 45 minutes my receiver will reset, basically indicating that the lock detected an ECM and is functioning. I have tried two different receivers, each with two different ,ax/mel boards and two different ar105's. Both receivers experience the same symptoms both with and without the PPV tiers on the bin file.

Am I correct in assuming that the stock cam ID that is included in the cemu disk images is being targeted? It's like 00002xxx.

If that image is being targeted, should I use a random camid generator to create one?

Also, I haven't seen much info on the blackout string. Could it possibly be an ECM target?

I run cemu and have no problem with it. I used to get hit after 30min but change cam ID, zip, time zone (not sure if the later two matter or not). If I was you, I would try different cam ids and see from there.

I'm using the MultiCEMU from the m24c site. Not sure when it's update was.

Also, I'm using Dish and not Bev. Don't know if that makes a difference or not.

I shifted cams tonight to one generated by a Cam generator, and everything seems to be OK for now. No resets (that I'm aware of) for the couple of hours I've been running but I haven't been in front of the TV the whole time, so I might have missed one.

The m24c site has the instructions for building max/mel boards as well as the flashes and software.

I'm using the dos cemu 0.7.2c2 which is the newest dos version available, to the best of my knowledge. I can't seem to find any links to newer versions anywhere.

The Cam change seems to be working for now though.

Another question though... Back with Dave there was a time when we could use HU ID's on H emulation. Is there a parallel for Charlie with using Rom10 ID's with the Rom3 emulation?

This is the one to counter the Superbowl ECM ;

Use Rom10 camID for Rom3 emulation invites ECM, or might not work at all. However you can use Yvous or Cemu88 Emulation for both Rom3 and Rom10 Emu.

I tried looking for CEMU with a newer date than my 2-11-04 for Dish. Is there a newer one? I'm getting 153 with a known valid Rom3 Cam.

Any ideas.

I used chinaman, changed cam, box, ird, timezone and zip code. That is all. Still no go.

Thanks in advance.

Valid CAM ID huh? Check your timezone, zipcode, and PPV? How about just run a basic tiers to test it out. By the way, 153 means you've been ECMed, did you fix the ECM before running it again? Yvous & CEMU should works fine. I heard CEMU72c2 works fine.

Well, Apparently I haven't found a valid CAM ID yet as I'm still getting resets every 30 minutes or so.

Any suggestions for generating a working ID? The program I'm using now is called camid.exe. Is there anything better?

I don't think reset is a camID problem. Let me PM you my ONLY cam ID, which works fine for weeks. Again, it's my only cam ID so keep it to yourself please???

Many thanks. As I have said before, I try to keep from doing anything that would draw attention to my hobby, which includes giving a CAM ID to anyone else.

Also, I probably should have mentioned that i have AR105A Auto-reset lock in my receivers, so the resets are the locks tripping. Occurs roughly every 15 minutes.

I am not so sure it's the CAM ID though. It might be the tiers and PPV you have on the ROM. Try my # and see how it goes. Keep us inform on anything new you learned.

Ok, well, I'm still getting the resets so it must be something with my tiers or PPV.

Any directions on what I should load to get cemu running.

Get rid of PPV and just use the basic ROM for now. Set Timezone and zipcode correctly to yours location (I am not sure if it matter or not but I recalled somewhere timezone and zipcode conflicts might cause ECM). By the way, you're using ROM3.bin and DishnetROM3.bin right?

I am using a rom3.bin and the corresponding eeprom bin file.

Can I edit the teirs .bin file as if it was going on a card, or will that mess with the 3m that is in the bin?

I say clean the rom3.bin (you have a backup somewhere right?) that would delete all tiers and 3m on there.

1) Create a tier patch for rom3 using YATM, just add basic stuffs for now.
2) Patch the tier to the cleaned ROM3, edit boxkey, camID, IRDnumber, zipcode, timezone, current keys
3) Edit the Cemu.ini file with the exact infomation as on the ROM.

Run it and see what's going on?

Well, I don't seem to be experiencing the resets anymore, but I can't view any of the PPV's even with credit on the virtual card. It is still trying to dial out, which it can't do.

Are there any how-to's out there on creating a bin file that will open everything but not be an ECM target?
