DisEqC Switch

I was wondering if I can use the DisEqc switch with my legacy 500 dish.

Could you be a little more specific as to which switch you are referring to?
Generally speaking, you cannot mix DisEqC and legacy, two distinct types of lnb to receiver signal transmittion.

I have a space star 4X1 switch. I beleive that my SW21 is defective because it only will recognize one lnb. Since I have that switch I was wondering if I could use this instead.

No you cannot use it in place of a sw21.
