301 010 vs 013 with BEV

Ok, dont trash me stating there is an answer here. I have read and this is what i know.

1. 010 will for sure work with bev
2. 013 will work for bev but no ppv and you have to cut jtag hole
3. 013 will not work for bev at all
4. 013 will work no problem with bev

These are the answers on this forum. This is why, please do not say i have not read. My problem is I have read too much and the answers are all over the spectrum. Please help and if you do have an answer, let me know if you have it physically working.

I have done a 501 with mc so from what i understand, the 301-013 is identical inside other than the hard drive? My 301-013 is coming soon so i want to know what i can do with it

It is my belief, but I have not tried it myself, a -013 will not work for bev.
I am positive a -010 will work for bev.

You're correct, Skinerd. BEV does not support the 301.013 receiver.

exactly what happen whit the two i have on my hand and test each

the ird works but you need to download the dish software before align to bev (bev don't have the soft for this revision -013

Ok. Let me make sure we all agree. the 013 will work with bev but no ppv. Now how do i get it to work without ppv. If i understand, first get the dish updates, then point to bev sats and setup mc to bell and i am good to go? Do I not have to erase any sectors and if so when and where.

Its kind of funny if you see this thread, i am almost back to my original questions. That is why i am clairifying my knowlege before proceeding..

the 013 will never work for Bell because Bell don't have software for 013 it will take forever to download frimware from Bell............................

That sucks! I just bought a 301 reciever off eBay and I'm not sure but I think it's a 013 model.

As we can all see, my question is not answerded as i have different opinions for the 013. Does anybody have the answer how to convert the 013 or patially convert it to bev?

Here's an excerpt from a guide written by one of the hobby's leading Dishnet experts.

BEV DOES NOT HAVE A -13 SO IT WILL NOT CONVERT TO BEV
BEV HAS NO FIRMWARE FOR THE -13 SO IT WILL NOT CONVERT
BEV DOES NOT SUPPORT THE -13 SO IT WILL NOT CONVERT
