Was the other IRD also a 301-013?
If not maybe you just need a different jkeys version.

If you can detect the CPU type, but you getting DCU errors, it basicly means one of two things. Either the CPU is not entering DCU mode when you power it up. Or the CPU is toast.

Double check the pin you are grounding. The pin 1 spot is only effective during boot, so the pin has to be grounded when you plug the unit back in, or it'll just come up normally.

Try it a few times. I've seen a few times with my IRD's where they jsut didn't want to go into DCU mode. Three or four times I've done the exact same thing, and then it just opened up for some reason.

If you can't even detect the CPU type then it's a JTAG issue... check power to the interface, and seccure connections.

That is correct.

Either should work, as long as it's grounded at startup.

So many things can go wrong with a chip the size the of the STi5518 that I can't really give you a blanket way to tell if it's good or not.

"DOWNLOAD FILE DEFS FOR DP301-013 and any j-keys program" next is make sure you use a mili bufferd j-tag. Be very familiar with mili's vidmod how to. It steers you right down to the very end of the page correctly. On every dp301-013t22bm I use the top to hook up my j-tag like in mili's vidmod how to. In j-keys in the drop down box your model is down in the bottom it is 301-3100 single.

All the problems sound like connection problems some where.

Does your ird even power on anymore?

allways save flash and write down boxkeys and ird# on paper.

Your ird caid is below R0054999999 correct?

good luck

"Oh shit" does not sound good check fuse. And the little green light does not turn on?

P.S. I soldered ground to read and write then unsoldered ground when I hooked up to sat in and etc.

I undid my vidmod after read and write "note" you must have the vidmod to even do the read and write or also to save the tsop or even change d500 to 0000 and I connected a two inch piece of wire from sb35 to the spot after I removed the vidmod.

After you did and checked this still no power on?

I also use a mc in camless rom 3 mod with these.

I am getting ready this morn to do a 2700 and a dp301-010 dual tsop.

Hey mili get ready I have been talking to this guy about six more dp301-013 single's so I will need six more cards.

"I connected a two inch piece of wire from sb35 to the spot after I removed the vidmod."

Do you have to do this?

The part in red is not exactly correct, I have no problem reading or saving without the vid mod. Having done about 40 vid mods, and I always read and save so I will have a good backup before I do anything else.

To change anything of course the mod is needed.

Yes vidmod is not needed for read and save, Its only needed to do a write.

Well I can say this much I came across problems without the vidmod on my first set of IRD's I did.

When I went to do the save it would only save part of the tsop and say error connection failed "or" aborted save incomplete.

But I have been wrong before, did you even have to cut the trace between sb35 and the spot?

Are you guys using a regulater instead of the vidmod to regulate the volts?

I did the vidmod that at bellexpress.vu which is linked to my signature.

Thats cool I like to do the hard work to. Lol

Hey Mikeee if you are having that same problem it could very well be what Mystickal 1 said your IRD file should be 4,096 kb long if it's not it did not save correctly.

If it did save correctly then you have a good backup of your tsop which will let you do a full erase and write to your tsop for future reasons that I have not run into yet with the magic card without the digilock, other than updates all is well.

If not, you will need to scout mili's downloads which may take vip access or just time matching p numbers for your 301-013 or both.

goodluck
