There was a guy at one time over on Innermatrix that successfully Jtag'd one of these damn things. Since I'm getting a few 301's, I'm not really too concerned about damaging this damn thing.

I have a old version 1 Sombrero and I could swear to god the guy used one of these to Jtag the unit and pull the BK's from it. If anyone would want to assist, here's the ID's off the chips labeled Echostar. Which one would be the TSOP? I think I figured it out based on the fact its the only chip that the 40 pin Sombrero fits over, and does not interfere with any caps or other items on the board. So unless this guy modded his Sombrero (doubtful) he had to manage to get this thing read.

I'll take snapshots of the board if anyone wants to see it. There is no Jtag pads. It was rumored that I remember that the 4900 was the actual base of this board and IRD. But the 4900 had a Jtag pad, so that doesn't completely coincide.

Here's your Chip ID's. If anyone cares to point which one I should take a shot at lemme know. If I can figure this out, I know there are a few other guys roaming around here with these, and they too were wondering wtf to do.

I have a funny feeling, neither of these is it. But here we go:

LSI L2A0854 (E* 97)
LSI L1A9719

If that doesn't cut it, what about doing the old virgin card + blocker + sub for a month, does that trick still work or no, allowing me to get the BK's that way.
