I hear that dish is doing/going to do a swap out of rom cards. is this is for all current cards rom 2,3 10 etc? will this affect the magic card? or will it be able to keep up with the change? just curious

Why don't they just swap recievers since they are already selling the camless models. Makes more sense than to just swap for another card that will most likely get hacked at some point.

Ha ha

thats a good one

I didnt know this was in the Jokes of the day section

Seriously please tell me your joking

Rom10x cards have not and more then likely will not be compromised

Hmm $6 swap vs $30 each ird?
Low guess not even including Sub time to install or Shipping cost

Charlie does not have enough cards to trade out anything other than the rom2 and possibly the rom3 cards. The rom10 and rom11 cards are not scheduled for swap out. Since the MC works in rom11 and rom10 mode, I think the MC will be just fine.

Actually I wasn't trying to be funny but glad you got a kick outta my reply. Why do you say the Rom 10X cards won't be compromised?

probally based on the same technology as the p4/d1 cards for dave, they have yet to be compromised.

Ahhh... if Rom 10X isn't compromised, how come the MC can run in Camless Rom 10 mode? That sounds like it's been compromised or at least duplicated...

And I've got a Rom 10 card sitting right here that I dumped, erased and reprogrammed with a new Rom 10x 3m last night.

I'd say the Rom 10 is fairly compromised... what am I missing here?

oh, yeah, I would say you are right I was thinking the rom 11's sorry, I would say you are probally on the right track, If we can emulate they must know a little something about them,

rom10x is very different than rom10. the rom10 is completely compromised, and the rom10x are still being worked on. I don't think the rom10x use the same technology as the P4. I expect to see a rom 10x fix within the year, maybe never for the P4...but I'm still hopeful. rom11's are also compromised in full, you just can't get very much support for them. Hopefully that will change in the future as well.
