i would like to try and put a virgin tsop bin on my ird so it will enable Dolby Digital
will the ird try to update and if it does how do i pevent it from updateing without getting a nag screen

Well, first of all, I am not so sure what u are trying to do is gonna work. Anyway,,, setting the IRD to "Ask before downloading" will keep it from doing so. You will get a screen when u first turn it on that you have an update available. just cancel...

Besides, with a lock installed - it cannot update.

well i tried the virgen tsop on my reciver and of course it didn't work
the receiver just keeps tring to download the new software even if i set it to ask for my permission and i have a digital lock
this really sucks
i was hopeing there was a way to edit the newest software version to enable the dolby option that is in the virgin file

How can you tell if you have a lock on the program?

A lock is a circuit to protect the tsop from a write. A blocker and password is software on the card. Rom3's were just looped. It had no effect on a locked tsop.
