Newbie having trouble jtagging 301.010

I'm a newbie trying to jtag my 301.010 using the latest version of jkeys. I followed the steps on the getting started page so I could back up my tsop and also retrieve my box keys, but my problem is that when I click on detect in jkeys I get the message "error, no response from jInterface on com 1, check connections and try again." I am using one of mili's buffered jtags. Also, are the pins in the jtag supposed to slide in and out of the plastic? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are u using jInterface on Com 1 or are u using parallel port?

I figured it out. I had to go into preferences and select parallel port. Was then able to back up tsop and retrieve box keys. Thanks!
