I have been testing for awhile, but I mostly read and don't post much, hopefully you guys can give me some assist.
I have read read read and finally got my stuff together.
I scored good today, got 3 complete systems with rom3 cards at a garbage sale.
I ran nagaraedit and it shows the nasty 381 and says backdoor cannot open.
I then read and read some more and there is just some much it hurts my brain.
I got the winexplorer, the 381 fix.vbx code and I still cannot get anywhere with this thing.
I am not trying to write anything to the card except to clean it until my subscription and my jtag reader gets here. I want to do jtag backups before I even plug the boxes in.
I have some sort of loader a friend gave me to figure out for him, this works since I also have one good rom3 and get all the correct info from this one.
I am trying to get into the other 3 I have though.
I ran the xpflash (WinXP Pro) and it seemed to work fine, the response was normal as with previous flashes. I have what I believe is a t911 hu loader and it has the 5 pins. I put the 1,5 to flash and this works. But when I do the 2,5 for read/write, this is where it all just quits. I setup my winex5 according to the directions posted in the "Fixed 381" thread, but I cannot get winexplorer to get a response. "Timeout from 2A" I have tried all different pin setups to no avail.
I know this is a lot more complicated than the good old h and hu daze, but I'm not paying Dave or charlie, I do pay milli though!
How about a little guidance from you wise ones, thanks fro any help folks.

Ok, I apologize for a couple stupid things in previous post.
I found the t911 answer in the newbie forum, sorry about that guys and gals.
But I still can't get the other programmer to work with the 381 rom 3 cards....

Penga's rom3 popper should pop a rom3 rev381. It will mark at E011, but I don't think that matters. Make sure you don't put those roms in the stream until you have a good blocker on them though. You need an iso with 3.68Mhz xtal for Charlie/BEV. Get the newbe guides sticky posted in the newbe section if you havn't already.

Thanks a lot, the rompopper did the trick, I'm all set now.
Nachos Garcias guys.
I will wait for the jtag reader before doing anything else.
