Hey guys, I set up both on one tv but now I have a problem. Everytime I turn one on the other comes on, I was wondering if there was a way to set up the remotes so I can use one for each. By the way one is a 3100 and the other is a 301 010.
thanks

The remote address can be changed, down load the manual from dishnetwork.com and it is pretty clear on how to do that.
I have an original 301 manual. I couldn't find it. What page is the info on regarding changing the remote address?

Do what I did, just turn one off manually. Then when you push power one turns off, other turns on.

I too looked in the manuals after that post and saw nothing about changing remote code addresses for IRDs??
Not for Infrared remotes at least, UHF were dif.

BirdieMod it depends on what type of remote you have but they all can be changed just different steps to do it

That info is not in the receiver manual that comes with the IRD, but it is available at dishnetwork.con.

Buddy is correct;.......
Did some research and found a solution!!!
If your have the DISH system with the combination UHF/IR signals you can change the address as follows (see caution at end of this message):
1) turn receiver off and press the System Info Menu button on the front of the receiver
2) write down the remote address you see on the screen--most are factory set to #1 and that is why you or your neighbor are controlling each others receiver
3) Press and hold the remote control SAT mode button for 3 seconds until all the mode button backlights come on, then let go of the SAT mode button
4) Use the number buttons to enter any number from 1-16 (at least on recent model DISH remotes). I would use at least 9,10,11 or higher since most people are using 1,2,3 etc.
5) Keep a note of the number you entered
6) The SAT mode button turns off after you enter each digit and then turns on again
7) Press the Pound (#) key button. If the address you entered is valid the SAT mode button flashes 3 times
8) Press the Record button.--the screen should now match the number you entered.
9) to check the address, press and hold the SAT mode button until the mode button comes on. Then let go of the SAT button and press the pound (#) key twice. The SAT mode button flashes the same number of times as the address.
10) Press the Select button to clear the System Information menu from the TV screen
Hopefully this helps someone out. I know its been bothering me for the longest time.
