I have a 301-013 sitting here that works great, but the remote control won't work with it. I tried the remote control on 5 other receivers, and they all work fine.
Anybody run into this? I'm thinking it might possibly be a cold solder on the board somewhere, but just thought I'd check here before I go ripping the board out to do a resolder.
Thanks.

I'm in remote hell also. I borrowed a remote from my in laws. It's a 113268. On my 'Sys Info' screen, it has '1' as the address, but the remote wouldn't control it. But on my Replay TV - that one had a code that will. So now I take the DN remote and change the remote address on the Sys Info screen to 7 - now IT works the 301, but my ReplayTV remote no longer operates the 301 anymore.
And let me tell you - the DN menus AND remote SUCK! But hey.....it's ALMOST free TV.
Argh! No wonder men go bald!

Strange.
I just checked the sys info screen, and it shows the remote address as 256.
When I try to program my platinum remote to 256, it doesn't work. I can't access the IRD to do a hard reset at all.
Is there any way to acess the TSOP or EEPROM to reset the remote address back to 1? This would probably be the easiest thing at this point in time.
Thanks. :)

Okay, I fingered it out. :)
With the TSOP & EEPROM lock on, every time I'd switch it back to remote address #1, the receiver wouldn't update the info, and keep bringing it back to RA-256.
I unlocked it, followed the instructions on how to change the remote address, and it worked like a charm. :) :)
Just for anyone else who might run into this problem.

Okay I checked the System info on my 3700 it said remote address at 1, and when I checked the system info on the 301.010 it said the remote address is at 12.Is this why the remote works with the 3700 and not the 301.010? Can I reset the remote to adress 12? To work with the 301.010?How?I don't have a manual for the remote.God it would be great to fix this 301.010,
