I bought a rom3/2700 and the 2700 works fine. The card was locked at 378, but said this a couple times here and there:

Opening of COM1 was successful
ATR String: 3F FF 95 00 FF 91 81 71 64 47 00 44 4E 41 53 50
30 30 33 20........................
ROM Revision: 003
EEPROM Revision: Rev378
Logging into card
Checking for BackDoor
BackDoor appears to be open, continuing...
Retrieving BackDoor password
Error retrieving BackDoor password
Error reading image from card
Closing of COM1 was successful
Error detected, One Step Clean incomplete

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I sent it out and just got it back. Its now at 372, but is still locked. Now probably 50-60% of the time I get this:

Opening of COM1 was successful
ATR String: 3F FF 95 00 FF 91 81 71 64 47 00 44 4E 41 53 50
30 ...............................................
ROM Revision: 003
EEPROM Revision: Rev372
Logging into card
Checking for BackDoor
BackDoor appears to be open, continuing...
Retrieving BackDoor password
Error retrieving BackDoor password
Error reading image from card
Closing of COM1 was successful
Error detected, One Step Clean incomplete
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This sucks! Think my card is dead? Any input is welcome....

Your card is unlocked and ready to go. Just do a full clean, put down a tier list, a ppv string and a blocker and your good to go. Use an external 9V 300Ma power supply if your not already.

But the problem is that I never get a password, it just acts like its looking for it for about 15 seconds, and then ends up saying "error retrieving password". I cant read the card. Any other suggestions?

Try to do a one step clean. When window pops up press full clean.
It's very odd that it is locked at rev372. You might try open sesame it is in the files section if the one step clean doesn't work.

you may try the default password deadbeefbaadf00d just to see if it will do anything on remove blocker in nagraedit, just a thought

yes this is weird. Using rompuke 3 or 4, it says its open when the command 00 81 00 81 is processed. Then it still never lets me get this back door password. this sucks.
