Yes I am in the same boat. I get that DCU peak error too. I just got buffered Jtag, and I'm pretty sure I got the thing hooked up good. I just connected the jtag to my computer using a Male/Male parallel cable with a Female/female adaptor(gold plated connections) then put the batteries in, and then connected the ground to a little screw in a round pit above the jtag port, then connected the pogo pins as per the instructions on the How to at bell express vu, then plugged in my ird. Then I launch Jkeys ver 2.9, thats when I get the DCU peak error. SO you think it's a grounding problem? I've checked my settings in Jkeys and it was at com1 by default. I had to change it to LPT1. I thought I had it, but then that darn DCU error. Any ideas? Ird is 2700, and has been out of the stream for a few years.

Yes mine is a buffered Jtag from Mili's store. I got the thing to give me the correct box keys and ird# one time. Maybe my batteries are too weak. Do the batteries need to be brand spankin new? WOuld it be a good Idea to prep the pads with some sort of abrasive? How about the grounding area? Good to scrape till I see metal and then ground? I have not got this thing to run error free yet. Always some sort of error. Maybe a different version of jkeys?

Yes try fresh batteries.

Thanks! It worked with some brand spankin new batteries no problem. I guess I'm just a little paranoid, as I am a very green newbie when it comes to dish. I made two saves of the tsop. Now I need to save the Eeprom. Is there a timing trick to that. I think I remember reading that either you must ground pad #1 or press ok in Jkeys with 2 to 3 seconds when trying to save the eeprom? What if you don't make it in time? WIll it fubar your ird up? Any help would be appreciated. I have all the guides and how to's, and they are very helpful, but I prefer to use both the guides and input from the guys on the forums, as they may have had some experiences or warnings not discussed in the how to. Milli, the Jtag works great, and I will be voting for this site. I am now awaiting my lagacy dish, and then I think I will be ready to finally start trying to test. I have been waiting a month to get my jtag for fear of them ecming my ird, so I dared not mess with anything except making backups of my two cams, a rom 3 @ rev 372 and a rom 10. The rom 3 is married to the ird, so I did not need jkeys to get my boxkeys, but I did need it save my eeprom and tsop, now that that is done, I think I'm about ready to start the journey. Thanks for the suggestions people.

It is the same step to save eeprom as you did to do tsop backup.

Ahh, I see. SO I just press eeprom programming and then save it? No Timing issues? Ok I'll try it. Thanks
