All I get is FYI from dish..why???

Im using a 310.013 vid rec ...Rom10 programmed by nagredit4.1 All that I have to see is Charlies Information "FYI" & the Congrats Opening Page... Programmed several times using different programs YATM & Rom Tiers maker....still all i get is 2 Channels on my rec... The Card can be opened, so its not looped...its at Rev A16 when opened.....do I still use a ROM Blocker with a UNMARKED Rom 10 Card even if it has the Password protection.... Help me get RID of Charlies Information Channel....Im going bonker's

Look at your location ID in the System info screen. You probably get 0x00000001. If so, you've been ECM. Do a search on 000001 for more info.

My luck.... Im newbie & just got the Reciever... Can you give a little more info where to look...typing in "ECM 000001" didnt find anything....I think the Rec is suppost to reset...do I also have to redo my card?

I hope you have a JTAG don't you? You can hook up the JTAG and errase the appropriate sector to force an update or rewire the TSOP back to your IRD. Search for "000001" should comes up with lots of info on it.

After the ECM is fixed, look into your ROM to make sure it's good before running or you'll get ECM again. Try just basic tier first without any PPV (unless you know a good ROM and good PPV), and change a good CAM ID or just try a new CAM ID.

Power the receiver with the card inserted. (That card DOES have a blocker on it, no?)

As it starts to go through it's "acquiring sat signal" routine, pull the card out. In a few seconds, an information screen will appear...look towards the bottom, where it says "location". If it's 0000001, you've been "hit" - ECM'd by Charlie. Most likely due to an invalid CAMID number. Then, you'll need to break out the old JTAG... :)

If you see a legitimate number there, then reinsert the card...let it acquire the sat signal...when finished, click menu, enter 6,1,1, and do a "check switch" test sequence if you havent' already done so. It's a 38-step test that takes about 3-4 minutes. My 013 will hang up on the same channels you're seeing, every time, if I forget to do this test.

Thanks again Freshman....the Info was at 000001 for the receiver....I dont have a Jtag yet.....the rec is suppost to be a Junk yard rec.....but i guess thy really ment JUNK Yard..LOL Ill have to learn how to JTag now Thamnks again

Thanks FreshMan.....LAST Q for the night....I just learned what Rom 10 was & Rev A16 ...My IRD has jtag location on the bottom, but i dont see any flashes for the jtags to change the location.. I just remember DTV required a flash FILE to mod the IRD's... J Keys is only a program isnt it? where do the Flashes come from>???

Yes, I think Jkey is the only program most ppl use. You should have JTAG and get a backup of TSOP before you mess with the IRD so you have the file, at least for back up. Luckily Dish have an option for quick ECM fix. Go to the link bellow, read the "How to instruction" / "Quick ECM Fix". While you're there and while waiting for the JTAG, look around, there's a lot to learn. Good luck

If your location ID is 000001 then your TSOP is probably corrupt and a backup will do you no good. Check the build of the IRD (In the sys info screen) and download a compatilbe TSOP bin from the download section of this site. Once you have your Jtag working (Use the Jtag program for your specific IRD , i.e. if you have one TSOP then use Jkeys dp301-013c) you can write the downloaded TSOP Bin file to your 301. (Using the compatilbe build from here). And you can use flash edit found here in the files sectioin to create a Virgin eeprom to wirte to your 301 also from the downloaded bin also.

Just read, read and read some more. :)

Thanks Freshman... Used the info all night.....im not sure which pds to use for the 301.013 I see 20 pins & some large pads....even if you can tell the arraingment for the jtag...im using one from DTV for 420;s I dont have power for it, the 420 supplied it ...any suggestions

I am not sure what voltage the 301 needs either 3.3v or 5V, So use a volt meter to get a VCC from any accessible place on the board.

OK, got my Jtag all hooked up & it works fine...seen my box keys & all the other stuff....... NOW WHAT....My current address is 7fc00000 with data as 0000.. The orginal problem was I got a 000001 after a ECM...do I erase then apply a bin? IM STUCK
