P4 Hack?

Not sure if there is any truth to this. I found this at another site. I was at this flea market about a year ago and there were two dealers there. I sent a copy of this to a friend of mine who lives around the corner from this place and she is gonna check it out. I will post back when I hear from her. By the way, I have a P5 card.


Are any of the testers in the East Toronto area?
There is a satellite booth in the Pickering Flea Market on Bailey claiming to program P4's.
I don't have a P4, and when I inquired about P5's, was told that card was slightly different, and they are still experimenting with free space on the card, which seems to be greater than on the P4.
They were doing LOTS of cards, and nobody there seemed to be complaining.
Can anyone confirm this before I search for a P4 to replace my P5??

Some people are comparing the wait for the P4 Hack to the wait for the HU hack. It took about 3 months for the HU hack.

The difference is that the P4 cards have been out about 2 years and still no success. I, like everyone else, would live to see it come, but I think for the time being it is a "Pipe Dream". and if it does get cracked, you won't be sitting at home cloning cards. I think you will find it is going to be "VERY" complicated, in th start anyway.

So far the P4 can be programmed and will run for about 20 minutes , then it locks itself and the card is destroyed ..

Been like that for the last couple years and that is as far as anyone has ever gotten ...

Well hell, why don't they just release the 20 minute hack then. I can get a whoooole bunch of p4's and when a good 2 hour movie comes on on ppv I'll program 6 of them and watch the movie. If I can get the cards for about a nickel apiece (wich I should be able to do if we wait much longer) I would just have 30 cents in a movie. Then I'll tape it and share with everybody.

Look at the facts... Dave abviously clears PPV charges for current customers... This means at the least.. some areas of the P4 card is writable and it does not get destroyed like some claim here.

Ther are to many things that must be changed.
If I subscribe to Dave for the minimum package, then decide to add more packages, with an OTP ONLY card, I sh*t ot of luck. So is Dave.
There are just to many variable factors for the card to have very much OTP area on it!!
Now stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

I think it's the cards safeguards that make it OTP. Once you get in, the card kills itself. It's not one time programmable for dave cause he's got the key's for the card but if you break in, it goes into lock down. Thus OTP.

Redwing1, First, I agree with the comments above regarding the Pickering Flea Market. It just makes sense for the writer to verify it before posting it. I feel for the guy(s) who went to check it out. Thanks for saving me a trip. Redwing1, I have a quick question. You are using free to air. Are you using a Silver Bullet Enforcer (formerly known as Blackbird)? I've read on various sites they are difficult to set up. True or false? Adding a 2nd dish on the roof is no biggie with one pointed at 110 and the other at 119. Any info you can share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm considering a Silver Bullet Enforcer and a second dish (110 and 119) to get Charlie. Also, I hear setting up a free-to-air receiver can be a pain in the (_*_). Is this T or F? Thanks.

Yup, you get HBO, PPV, the whole shebang. But no NFL Sunday Ticket as that package belongs to Dave.....you will hafta track your favourite NFL team(s) thru local/regional broadcasts.

Is it hard to set up? Not particularly, but it is a different concept from, say, using a loader and extreme HU to glitch an access card for use with the service provider's un-modified receiver.....so there are some quirks....such as rudimentary program guide (B*V) or no guide at all (Charlie).

All-in-all, I recommend it..... so far it's been very reliable. ;-)

r_hill, thanks for sharing. I can live without NFL Sunday Ticket but I used to enjoy NHL Center Ice. You probably get that with Charlie. Surprised to hear about the Interactive Program Guide. Based on your sign-in, we may live in the same town (R Hill). I don't mind the cost of Silver Bullet Enforcer (if it works) or a second dish but I don't want the aggravation of not being able to set it up.

OTP my ass. what if i bought a sub from dave and wanted to upgrade then downgrade after a few months??? wouldn't he have to do some RWE to the card? the fact of the matter is there is a way around everything in electronics. we just haven't found how to do it with this one just yet.

Forget about the hardware. How about the intel going into this technology? It could be likened to building a safe in a bank. Talking in common terms, when a bank is building a safe in a building, there is as many a 4 contractors pulling off a construction on the safe alone. Could Dave have as many as 4 different companies or contractors, each placing there knowledge in different stages?? This Holy Grail may not be as holy as you think. Just the people delivering the goods in different stages and methods are just not talking to each other.
