Being an 010, you'll more than likely have to "revive" it. They're coma-prone.
Yes, you need to leave your lock OFF as the receiver cannot receive the firmware update it needs if the TSOPS are locked. That's the information the receiver wants to download, as you have already noticed - and it couldn't with the lock in place.
Once that's done (10 minutes approx.) and your setup is complete, then switch on the lock.

Their is a area in the forums here dedicated to locks and questions/Help. Might be of more help.

boreal2 you mentioned in the first post that you had no problem with the jtag downloads. If you backed up the tsop's then just load the backup's back to the tsop's using the jtag. That's the easiest way to bring it back to life.

Don't worry that it dosen't turn on. If you have any problems writing the tsop's then unplug the receiver close jkeys and ground pin 1 of the jtag port on the bottom of the pcb. Plug it back in fire up jkeys and try again. This will put the receiver in boot from link mode and it will respond properly no matter how corrupt the firmware is.

In these cases I usually suspect a problem with the lock or the hookup of the lock. The result you got after unplugging while in a forced update situation shouldn't have happened with a properly functioning and installed lock. Might consider removing the WE connections of the lock only and rejoining those connections on the receiver PCB until you get it operational again. Since it might interfere with jtaging and writing the receiver. Easiest way to do that is dissconnect the wires for the WE to TSOP line and WE from CPU line from the lock board and connect them together.
