Ok still leaning dish, and i thank everyone for the help, big props to Birdie... thank you so much.
here is my questions, when i change the high/low event/PPV id, i am currently cleaning the card, making the change on the saved image, then re-writing to the card. Can i just "read from card" then make changes, then "write to card"?
Also, i have no locals, nothing under 100, i have read alot of posts on changing the black out string somehow, but haven't read anything clear enough that makes me feel safe to do it, i don't want to mark my cards, is there a simple explanation? i have rom 3 and rom 10 cards

yes you casn read card,,make your changes,,double check your blocker password, then write to card,,,
on the locals,,you go to data editor in nagra,,,where the blackout string is,..7F 7F 7F 7F...ECTCHANGE THE LAST 74 TO YOUR LOCAL

ok, how do i find what my local is, and why did you write "74", it does not appear in that line, it's all 7F, did you mean change the last 7F to 74?

The last byte in the blackout string is the locals remaping byte. It tells the receiver what channels numbers to assign to your specfic locals.
So yes change the last number to the one that matches your local market. Then all the locals will come in on the assigened VHF or UHF channel they have been given by the FCC.

Can't tell you what number to assign to the last byte without knowing where you are. Not that I recommend you telling me by any means. Since that narrows down the search if anyone is looking for you. :-)

Making sure your staement is clear to me..when i change the high/low event/PPV id, i am currently cleaning the card, making the change on the saved image, then re-writing to the card. Can i just "read from card" then make changes, then "write to card"?
you are saying that you are cleaning the card right?
If not then you want to. if you write tiers on top of tiers you loop your cam or if any of the other data is not cleaned off and you write to a unclean cam,
If yes then cool. I just took it wrong and am trying to save a cam from the loop munster.
