i HAVE PROGRAMMED ATMEGAS FOR DISH NET. RECENTLY AQUIRED A BELL RECIEVER 3100 PROGRAMMED ATMEGA AND AS SOON AS I PUT IT IN THE IRD SCREEN FLASHES THEN RECIEVER SHUTS OFF ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED

What does it do with the original cam,does it still shut down?
Does it just shut down?or does the green light flash 3 times then shut down?

I powers up with green light then shuts down. try to power up using power button on reciever and the tv screen flashes and it shuts down again. it will fire up and stay on before i insert the atmega as soon as i do it powers off.the green light does not flash three times. I am baffled

Sorry about the caps up real late trying to get the dam thing workin. I also backed up my tsop if that helps. When I do not put anything in the ird i still get all the ird info.

need to know the firmware,but sounds like you have to do a "check switch" and it can be tricky without the original cam.
if you can get it to try to acquire signal,then menu,set up,installation,dish pointing,you will see a check switch,do it and it should stay on with the Atmega in it....

me thinks that is your problem...
Is your location id000000001?
If not ,don't worry about the tsop right now....all is well.

This happened to one of my buddys last week.

Erase SA3 (3 times), then re-connect to sat feed. You'll be good to go.
