I have 2 drd 430 that do not aquire signal, and by that I mean no voltage out the sat connector. So after reading here, I found the "likely" components are the Lnbp-15sp or the demod chip.... One of these units actually had a piece burnt off the corner of the lnbp-15sp, so I started there. Once out (the chip completely removed) I plugged it in just to check, and now it has about 20 vdc and can pick up odd transponders. I was wondering if this chip is what causes the "shift" to the lower voltage for the even transponders? I figure replacing the lnbp-15sp will fix this one. With the second ird everything looks good (no burnt parts) but the demod chip gets very hot. I removed the lnbp-15sp as in the first ird but no voltage at sat. connector and the demod chip still gets hot. Does it look like the demod chip is bad, or could there be something overloading the chip....anything else I should check? Thanks....BTW if anyone knows were to get a few lnbp-15sp pls. let me know...they seem to out of stock a few places I checked.
