7200 firmware update

I had lot of problem doing the update of 7200. Finally got it done. Here how it works. Hopefully it will help you guys.

1) Power off
2) Hit options 3 times
3) 8675309 lights flash twic
4) Turn receiver on
5) Shows dialing msn, dialing msn second time
6) Continue
7) Leave field blank
8) Power off
9) Choose to initiate install
10) Welcome screen, pull card out.
11) Navigate screen will show up
12) 1-10 continue
11 sign up later
12 continue

Thankyou/ done
Receiver will turn off and then will restart again.

You are done.

Did you actually have to plug in the phone line and dial?

yes you do need that. but don't hook up your receiver to satellite at that time.

Is there a risk if you have programmed card in the receiver or msn cant tell its hacked?

You pull the card out while updating.

will this work on a 7100??? ive got a brand new unite that has never been streamed and all i get is the welcome screen and thats all

well
1) pull the card out after the updates has been done and then put it back in and receiver will turn off and then after the lights stops blinking put it back in.
2) No. msn can't tell but make sure the satellite is not linked to the receiver otherwise msn will for sure no about the discripency about the original cam and the other one.
3) You can try the 7100 as the basic firmware is same in 7200 and 7100.
