I'm guessing you havn't entered your ird # correctly did you use the middle 8 digits.
e.g. "R00 01 A0 D5 38- 26 " you would eliminate the R00 at the front and also the -26. I use the the tier maker rtm and I would then convert the middle 6 digits and letters to Hex using windows calculator. (its likely installed in your computer) When you get your hex # be sure to have 8 digits. If you get something less you must add 0's at the beginning to make 8. E.G.
0112358 is only 7 digits so you would have to add a 0 thus you would have to enter 00112358. Now if I could just get my jtag reader to read so I could do it, Damn!

hey great post guys I'm in the midst of programming my first rom 3 and I read this and seen that you have to drop the last two digits. I just dropped it changed the info on my rom and booted up the IRD. I lost the 005 nag and the 020 nag but all I get is dish channels and music channels and a bunch of black screens. No audio or video, I'm waiting to see if the keys will roll or something, but any ideas?

Do you have to get rid of the last two digits of the box key? Blank screen is telling me I have improper box keys in... I'll quadruple check them and play around with it I guess

Enter them just as JKeys read them, Crazy. NOT in hex format, and all 16 characters. They are easy to enter wrong, so go slowly and carefully. Remember, too - there are no capital O's in dishnet programming - only zeroes.
As for the Receiver ID, drop the first three characters and the last two. Convert the remaining 8 to hex format in Win Calc, then add enough zeroes to the FRONT of the result (usually one) to arrive at an 8-digit hex number. Save it somewhere for future reference, and enter it in Data Editor at the appropriate time. Same thing for your zipcode.

Thats how I put them in chief, I finally got the IRD in hex and put in. I read the how to guy 20 times and read right over that part every time. Finally seen a post on the subject and got that fixed, It relieved me of my 005 and 020 nags. not authorized, and invalid for receiver. I know there are no o's only zero's I put them in correct, I know I did. I just did a tier Yatm and tried that, I am down to dish channel i.e. 101, 500 you know the basic stuff and music channels. I have every other channel just no A/V to go with it. I'm sure box keys are correct but that is what a blank screen tells me, that they are not. It's not making sense to me. I'm letting it sit on one channel. I already tried switch check and even hard boot. Running out of ideas here Chief. The first three characters of the ird number would constitue the R00, right chief? Not the 001.

Hey Chief, this Crazy1 is up and running with his first dishnet plastic piece, I put the keys to 0000000000000's and let them update and I got tv! I got a couple rom 10s on the line pretty cheap from a guy in my town. The rom 3 was just to make sure I had it in me! lol Everyone, thanks for the suggestions. Guess I just had a stubborn rom 3 in the midst

Great...ain't it nice? :)
Did you ever fix the Rom3? Only things I can think of is maybe you accidently put a Rom10 CAMID or tier list on the card...or there's still something amiss with the box keys.
Anyway, you're up...so I don't feel too badly now. :p

Yep it is the rom 3 I got running. Still waiting for that guy to hunt up some rom 10's. Just thought I would practice on this rom 3 I was going to sell on fleabay so I'm glad I kept it. I did sell a rom 10 I got with a receiver on ebay because I didnt plan on testing plastic. I now have 3 MC's an atmega and a rom 3 all programmed up and working great! Now all I have to do is buy enough receivers and dishes for all of them! lol. All I did different to get the rom 3 to go was change the public keys from current keys to all 00000000000 and let it update in the stream. I was pulling my hair out because I knew the box keys were correct!! But thanks for the help!! It's because of this forum I am able to use such a variety of testing devices. All I ever did with hu's is wait for update 3m's and write them to cards. I actually thought that was testing! Boy was I wrong.. lol Great site you guys. Definately will be hanging around for a long time!! BTW I am using the cam 3 original ID. I did try MC's default cam id earlier tonite to see if I could get it to go. If this cam goes down, i will definately do that!

Hope that original ID stays up...you'll find out before long, Crazy.
They say Charlie will blacklist the CAM on a no-longer-subbed card, then pull the blacklist from the stream after a few months...if that's the case with yours, your CAMID may work for a long time. If not, you'll get ECM'd before the night's over.

I HAD tHE Problem with insert valid smart card also.
Finally I FIGURE IT OUT. Not by myself I HAD HELP ON THE FORMS.
I was using FO for the time zone, EASTERN , Instead of F zero F0
fOR ONE WEEK i was writing the card that way and getting the error Message
This had nothing to do with the Ird # being wrong A through f only
ZERO through 9 only in hex.
Thanks to a lot of great folks out there I'M UP AND RUNNING WITH
MY lEGACY RECEIVERS ROM 10 & 3 cARDS.
I noticed the equipment like Legacy Lnb's are running scarce on f Bay.
Is their a sw-34 switch that can be used with a dishpro 500? dish Pro Lnb?
Thanks all
Lunar :)
