I've searched but haven't found a definitive answer. How do you fix a receiver that is stuck on the "Aquiring Satellite Signal" screen?

If you get location id 000001, does the signal option even come up? My 3700 says 000001 but only stays on system info and will not go any where else. No matter what buttons I push. Mopar

Never Fuckin' Mind...

You cannot even ask a question without someone jumping down your throat. What the fuck? This is the newbie's forum is it not? It only takes about 30 secs of your time to type in an answer. For what it's worth it's a 3100 IRD.

Hey man...

Yes this is the newbie's forum and this question belongs in the Dish/Bev receivers forum....

In order for people to help you, you have to help people to help you.....All you said was " how do you fix a receiver stuck in Acquiring signal..." and nothing else..

You could of at least help people to help you by giving some type of information...
I'm going to give you a few scenarios:

--Are you using any SW21 ? if so, could be a bad one.
--Are you using Atmega ? if so, some Atmega are sensitive to the current-in-stream Rom3 ECMs.
--Are you using a Dish Pro LNBs on a legacy IRD ? This could be a problem.
--Dish is sending out firmware updates on certain IRDs. Is yours one of them?
--Are you using any type of IRD's lock ? hardware or software ?
--If you have a Dish500 with built-in LNBs, have you tried to switch to the second line?

Now you decide if it would help if you would of provided some information.

That's right .....Never fuckin' mind then....

Perhaps I was out of line when I said that but so were you. You didn't have to reply like that. I was in a rush when I posted that question cause I was leaving but wanted to atleast post something to see if someone would be able to help. If you can help please do cause I'd really appreciate it.

It's a 3100 IRD, using a 2 dual LNB's & a SW21 switch.

The dish is pointed correctly as it works with my other IRD's. Only this one the reception comes in but after a while it just drops and that "Aquiring Satellite Signal" nag pops up. I'm not sure what's causing that. No foliage or buildings, etc obstructing the view. I'm sure the switch is fine, works with my other receivers. When I searched yesterday, I saw someone post that it may be the eeprom that's causing that message, can that be it?
