510 to bev

Just wondering if it is the same procedure to convert a 510 to BEV as doing a 501.
I havent found much info on the 510 but tons on the 501.

I don't think Bell supports the 510.

yes bell does support the 510... it will become a 5900.
you will be able to use any testing card in the 5900 and you will be able to use the 120 gig HDD for 80 min of recording time... if you have dish firmware on this receiver just erase sa 61 in flash 2 and re-stream in the bell stream and you will download bell E444 and your all set... it will take about 30 mins ..so be patient .. also make sure that you do the 0j1 mod and back up your tsop before you start erasing ..I don't think Bell supports the 510.

hope these pics help abit with the oj1 mod... click here (http://www.dssftp.com/forum/upload/showthread.php?t=12954) scroll down and look at post #30 ......just solder 2 pins in this spot shown.. and then use a jumper(radioshack sells them for approx $2 for 10... or an atmega jumper will work..) you can use 2 wires and a switch if you like.....

may i suggest that you get phiberoptik's "how to jtag the 510 guide"... and read it...it is the best guide i have found for jtaging the 510 as it is different than the 501/508...
