I am trying to convert a 2700 to bev. I have backed tsop and eeprom.

I erase sa5 and virginize eeprom. I dump sa5 and eeprom to confirm that they are indeed "erased". I hook the receiver to up to the sat feed and plug it in.

After about 30 seconds the power led comes on and flashes randomly for about 5 secs like the HD led on your computer would. It continues this flashing every 5 mins or so for as long as I will let it. The tv screen indicates that it is not getting a signal. Meaning the receiver is not sending anything to it. I take the receiver out of the stream after 5 hours dump sa5 and its still blank.

If I take the original dish fw erase sa5 and put the receiver in the stream pointed at dish it updates in less than 5 mins.

Anyone got any ideas?

Can anyone throw me a bone on this one? Am I missing something stupid?

The last 2700 I did I had to do a "check switch" test to get video rather than "you are not subscribed to this channel". I can't do that with this 2700 cause I get not video out so I don't even know if I have access to the menu options of not.

Just erast sa5, is it necessary to virginize the eeprom?

I have erased sa5 by itself and it doesn't work that way either.

Not sure if its necessary to virginize eeprom or not but thought I would give it a shot anyways.
