Hey guys, I am sure most people have seen this already but I just wanted to let you guys know it does work.
I have a 301 that was ecmed and I have no jtag cutout so I removed the board and flashed it, everything went fine. I put it back together and now I have no signal. Well I thought for sure it was either tsop or eeprom because it worked fine before I flashed it. I guess while I was taking the board out the maxim chip seperated some how and that was the cause of my problem. After two or three weeks of flashing I thought I would try to heat up the maxim chip and press down on it with a screwdriver to see if it was loose. Well after 15 seconds with a wagner heat gun my signal went from 0 to 89. SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET. I held it down for a few minutes while it cooled and I have been watching for 20 minutes or so now. I found mine was loose on the right side(looking from sat in) but I guess anyone could be different.
If your having signal problem try this, worked for me and many others too.................
Just in case anyone does not know where this chip is, it is located under a silver box where the sat in cable is. It is a small chip that says maxim on it.
GOOD LUCK
