I have had no problem with Bev. 2700, 4700, 3800>2700 and a 6000, all work fine. Thought I would give Dish a try. Seemed pretty straight forward. I am trying to use a 3800 (upgraded to 3900) AT128, Jeepers 2.x, and I have tried a various pfg's. All the same basic result (newer ones) results.

Write the TSOP, EEProm, Turn on the digital Lock, hook up the antenna, let the receiver cycle (on/off) insirt the ATmega, cycles again, and I get the 101 channel, along with some music channels and other help channels.

Now, I can leave it with the lock on for days, no channels changes. If I turn off the lock, I get all channels, within about 5 min's. and I pick up some type of ECM. I get the call 800 # your Rx'r has a problem (pops up from instant to 5 min). If I leave the lock off more than 5 min.'s, I get Location 0001, Ok redo the TSOP/EEprom, no biggie. If I turn the lock on at just about 5 min. I don't have Location 0001, but I still get the call 800.

Can someone please tell me what step I am missing, I sense I am close. Or is it the AT128 just won't work with Dish anymore. Sure works fine with Bev.

Thanks.

Just thought I would post a follow up. I think (by no means am I an expert) that I had 2 problems. One the pfg's I have been using I think were written for ROM 10 (not adviseable for a 38/3900) and the Cam # was a little to bogus for Dish, although it works fine for Bev (no wonder more convert to Bev, besides the better programing)

I changed the TSOP and Eprom to virgins, everything ROM3, took the new software update (SA5), turned on the lock, and within 5 mins, Error 155, nuts! Turned off the digital lock, pulled and re-insirted the card (At128) and it has now been running an hour. Probably won't last, but it has definitely been a "learning" adventure.

It would be interesting to know if anybody ekse has found turning off the lock works too. (if so for how long?) Thanks for all the advise out there.

How old is that lock?

Older locks have issues with Dish.

I have several 3X00 series receivers running here and there with ATmegas, with the locks ON and all channels.

Hi:
The lock is from a schematic I was able to get, about a year old. I noticed some of the newer ones are using one different point for the detection. The receiever is still running fine, so I am not sure if I am too concerned about it at this point. I was told Dish does routinely send ecm's or play with the stream.

Yeah, you need newer locks, the ones I use have a faster and flash-upgradable chip and no nags at all.

Old Tex, what style lock do you run?? I am interested in one if it is flash updatable.
