I need advice. I want to help a friend test charlie. The currrent setup she has is the 4 TV install with 2 receivers...the 322 and the 522. Each of these is hooked up to two TVs. Now I am already aware that they cannot be tested. I was thinking of buying her a 721. I do have one laying around, but it is locked at A23 so there's nothing I can do with it. (not at the moment anyway) I was thinking of picking her up a virgin 721 and getting boxkeys from it and using that. But I don't know how to wire it since her house is already wired for those 2 receivers. She has 2 dishes (110, 119, and 61.5) connected to the 2 IRDs via a SW-34. I read in a different post that the 721 can only run to one TV...which is fine I guess since one TV is enough to test with.

My questions are:
1) Can 721 be run with wide open PPVs like 7200? I know that people say they haven't been ECM'ed yet but were these people running them wide open? (she really wants porn :p)
2) Would I be better off buying an entire new 721 to get the BKs or should I buy a new virgin ROM 10 and apply blocker and get BKs that way? ( i dont know how she would explain to Charlie so I'm not too fond of that idea)
3) Any better alternatives I can use for her to test? (better IRD than 721 that works with DP switches)
4) How would I wire it?

Thanks for any and all help.

Answer 1) YES
Answer 2) It's your call. For the 1st alternative, make sure it's REALLY NEW/VIRGIN. On the 2nd one, it's entirely up to the person to call DN and to make sure the blocker will let the authorization packets go through. If not, you'll get screwd...
Answer 3) Well, let's see : 111, 311, 322, 522, 811 and 911 are out of the question (For the moment at least). What's left ? DP301, DP501/508/510 and DP721. Neither can run on 2 TV sets independantly.
Answer 4) I'm really not an expert in wiring but the DP721 requires 110/119 in a equal fashion on both tuners. That's not big help I know but for my part, I have used a 2 dual lnbs with 2 SW21 at first and it was great. I'm now using a QUAD (DP) and it works great.

Comments : I can't help notice that I've seen this post somewhere else... Which is good to cummulate information. Just make sure you do the appropriate follow-ups to everybody... I've heard of a guy at one of these places that has a VAST experience with wiring (I would personaly call him a GOD, but that's just me...) I'm sure I'd be willing to help...

Thanks a lot for your responses Jewel. Very helpful. Yes I did post it at KC too. I was kinda hoping you would answer because I've read your other posts regarding that IRD...but I didn't know which forum you frequent more. I guess all thats left to answer is the wiring portion. It's a little confusing when working with the 2 output IRDs to me.

If you go at KC, you'll find the "wiring god"... (Tim98Z28)

Just a quick note, If she disconnects a 322 or 522 she will lose 2 locations as they are both dual tuner models. She would need to leave one of the tuners connected.

what confuses me is that if i remember correctly, the 522 only has 1 input for sat feed and 2 outputs. if it has 2 inputs then i guess it would be easy as i just switch the 2 inputs over...but if it has only 1, and i pull that, then both tv's will go down...and if it has only one, then what would i put in tuner 2 of the 721. I hope i'm making sense here.
