failed to enter program mode

I am trying to program my atmega but every time i do I get a failed to enter program mode message. I've tried alot of different downloaded files and still get this message no matter what.Can someone help?

Thanks.yes I did put in jeepers folder and have gotten link for keys from file downloaded from dssftp. I discovered that I had more than one instance of jeepers running at the same time, cleaned up computer and was able to programe card just no ppv probly need different file."Question" Can program be read once it is written to atmega? ive tried but get error message. it is as follows " [READ] memory offset exceed image size '5AF' Type mismatch in assignment ' Get Imageword (eep, 5AF,Be): I can't make any sense of this.

assuming your harware connection and setting are correct. You have checked the settings in jeepers to make sure you are using the correct port?

usually caused by either low programming voltage from the parallel port (try another computer prefablly an older one 486 or pentium 100) or corrupt lock bits for this look for a file called fbrg16 read the instruction and follow.
