advice- will I get hit by mcm or did i luck out

I have a 301.010 and 3900 that was once subscribed and canceled months ago.
They both have channels on them even though they are no longer subscribed.
The rom cards retain the tiers for a while.

It's to bad you put the rom card in the stream, most likley it's locked from a rev update.

The receiver should be just fine for testing without a lock. A lock is extra security from ecms, but not a 'must have'.

For newbies the best way to go is 'Magic Card'.

Unhook the "satelite in" coax line. Hook the out to TV line upso you can see the reciever is on and hit the system info button.

Look at the info on the screen and see what REV the card is at. That way you will know if it is stream locked or not and what is on the card.

Are you sure the remote control works?

I had the same problem with a remote control that did not work.

Do you have an iso loader/programmer?
One with a 3.68 crystal if so that would read the card also with Nagra Edit

I did what you said & it says reva21. I HOPE THATS ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW BECAUSE im not sure if im supposed to post the other numbers or not.

OK so you are at reva21 that's good. You have a rom 10 card that's locked at reva21.
You need an iso loader/programmer with a 3.68 crystal to read the card and to use software to unlock it so you can program it and put a Blocker on it. Also you need a Jtag reader to read your receivers box keys, ird# and to backup/save a copy of your tsop.
