Atmega128 w/1000 & 3000 Recievers

Anyone runing 1000, 3000 w/atmega128 if so what xtal or did you have any problems at all, these recievers is everywhere so there has tobe a reason be side the no jtag port....Tks in advance :)

I got one 18Mhz running on a 4000 which semed very similar to the 3000.
